Tentang AMAN
AMAN (The Indigenous Peoples Alliance of the Archipelago) is a leading organization that fights for the recognition and protection of Indigenous Peoples Rights in Indonesia. Established on 17 March 1999, composed of 2.645 member communities; + 20 million in population, 21 Regional Chapters, 110 Local Chapters, 3 Wing Organizations, 2 Autonomous Bodies, 2 Economic Institutions. At global level, AMAN involved in initiation of various global initiatives including Global Alliance of Territorial Communities (GATC), The International Indigenous Peoples Forum on Climate Change/IPFCC, establishment of IPAS (Indigenous Peoples of Asia Solidarity), and member of Asia Indigenous Peoples Pact (AIPP). AMAN managing + $3-5 million per year. AMAN was the recipient of international awards: SKOLL Award 2023 for Social Innovation and the Elinor Ostrom Award (2015) on Collective Governance of the Commons Council.
Together with KPA (The Consortium for Agrarian Reform) and WALHI (Indonesian Forum for the Environment), AMAN established Nusantara Fund, a direct funding mechanism and trust/endowment fund for Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities in Indonesia. Visit:Â www.aman.or.id
